#Snowdrop Walk In #Walsingham
#Holkham Stories
#DeepHistory Coast Fossil Hunt
Snowdrops are just fabulous at this time of year. There is nowhere more serene to walk around and see their abundance, than in #Walsingham. Where you can make the day of it. Go for lunch at Victorious or one of the other eateries in the mesmerising village. www.walsinghamabbey.com
Perhaps you could book a room at the #Red Lion in Stiffkey. Where you'll be able to combine your Snowdrop Walk with a wonderful walk on the #Marshes in Winter. Where the winter bird life can transfix and mesmerise you. www.stiffkey.com
Holkham Stories
These days out explore Holkham's past, present at future; at the 400 year old estate. You'll get to enjoy their food and farming fun. Find out why cow pats are important and take your turn at milling flour. Sounds like a lot of fun for all ages. Running from 12th February through to the 20th February 2022. Deep History Coast Fossil Hunt
Download the North Norfolk Council's Fossil Hunting App from their website. It will help you identify the different Fossils. I found a 70 million year old Fossilised Ammonite, and 70 million year old Bellamite. A Bellamite looks like a large Crayon when they are whole. I cannot express how much fun this is to do. I got lost in history and was transported back in time by imagining the coast with Giant Mammoths, Tigers, and Hippos when I was hunting the fossils.
We parked at the carpark at West Runton and wandered down to the beach from there. Perhaps you could go to #The Ship Inn at Weybourne for lunch before or after your hunt. If you have any Vegetarians or #Vegans in your party they have a separate menu for them. Which is very welcoming. They have a fabulous selection of Gins! #Gin was historically known as Mothers Ruin. Another way to transport yourself back in time.
